Ok everyone! I hope everyone is as pumped up for tonights UFC 102 card as much as I am it could shape up to be one of the best cards of the year from top to bottom. It features in the main event two of the biggest ledges of the sport Randy "The Natural" Couture, vs Minotaur Nogueira. In a fight that most fans have been waiting years to see back when Couture was owning the UFC heavyweight division and Nogueira was dominating the Pride heavyweight division it was a dream match that every fan wanted to see.....Well fast forward about 10 years later and we are seeing that fight tonight with both men surprisingly still in the title hunt. Tonight some say will determine who will get the next title shot at either current champ Brock Lesnar or by a shocking twist current number 1 contender Shane Carwin who will meet at a stacked UFC 106 card in October. But as for tonight here is the way I see tonights fights going

Starting off with the first fight of the night on the main card

Chris "The Crippler" Liben vs Jake RosholtChris

Liben prides himself with his black belt in Jiu Jitsu but the Crippler could be a bit rusty his last fight was in 2008 at UFC 89 In the main event which he lost in a unanimous decision to Michael "The Count" Bisping. As for Rosholt in only his second UFC fight is coming off a tough lost to underrated middle weight Dan Miller at UFC Fight Night back in Feb

Outcome --Look for both these men to try and take it to the ground where they both like to wrestle however with the great submission game and experience of Liben look for a comeback win for the Clipper late in round 2

Krzysztof Soszynski vs Brandon "The Truth" Vera

This fight has fight of the night written all over it this is going to be a explosive fight with each fighter throwing bombs and kicks at each other. Soszynski is coming in to the fight with 3 straight wins with two of them by Kimura. Brandon "The Truth Vera" was once thought upon as the next big thing in the UFC after winning his first 4 fights in the UFC Including a KO of former Heavyweight Champ Frank Mir. Then Vera hit a wall and a long losing streak but now the 'Truth" is back

The outcome--This is probably the toughest fight on the card to call but here we go I think its pretty much just gonna be a brawl its no surprise that Vera is planing to use a bunch of leg kicks, now Soszynski comes from a great camp which includes Dan Henderson and they have been working on stopping the leg kicks look for Soszynski to get a punch in take it to the ground and either ground and pound or get a sub--So in a amazing fight look for a Soszynski win

Nate "The Great" Marquardt vs Damain Maia

What can you say about this fight this is just gonna be a war between two of the top middleweights in the world Nate "The Great" Marquardt comes in to the fight by winning his last 2 bouts via KO'S Marquardt is on a mission to get another shot and Current champ Anderson Sliva. In there first meeting Sliva just made Maruardt look like a chump with Sliva winning by first round TKO. Know for Damain Maia maybe the best Jiu Jitsu fighter in MMA He comes in the this bout with a 10-0 record with 5 of them coming in the UFC with all five of them ending via submission victory's for Maia The

outcome---Its no secret that Maia wants to take it to the ground and Marquardt wants to keep it on the feet.. Marquardt is one of the most well rounded fighters in the UFC and is just a monster size wise at middle weight so the question is how will Maia get it to the ground? The big Problem for Maia is the fight starts on the feet...Look for the match to end with Maia on his back after another KO Win for Nate "The Great" Marquardt

Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine vs Thiago Sliva

This fight is going to be a slug-fest Thiago Sliva is going to come out swing still very upset coming off the first lose of his career to Machida Sliva feels he has something to prove and he wants his rematch with "The Dragon". For Jardine coming off a heart breaking lost to Rampage Jackson He is ready to take on yet another top Light heavyweight contender.

The outcome--The out come of this fight will be all about strategies Slivas is knock Jardines head off and if he goes to the ground break his arm sounds good but putting it to work is a different story. As for Jardine coming from a great camp with Greg Jackson and his Training buddy Rashad Evans Jardine will come in prepared with a great game plan with abunch of leg kikcs that have lead him to victory over some of the top fighters in the UFC...Look for a descision victory for "The Dean of Mean" via abunch of leg kicks

The Main Event- Randy " The Natural" Couture vs Antônio Rodrigo Minatour

NogueiraWhat is there to say about this two ledges of the sport and two of the greatest guys in the sport going at it a fight that some fans like me wish would end in a draw...But it's not there trying to knockout and submit each other to Eran a title shot maybe the last chance they both have in the careers. We start with Nogueira coming off a beat down at the hands of Frank Mir at UFC 92 Nogueira has only 2 fights in the UFC and in both fights he has looked nothing like the Pride Nogueira from back in his hay day could this be all the wear and tear catching up to Nog?...As For the 13 year old elder of Nog, Randy Couture comes into this fight after having lost his Heavyweight title to Brock Lesnar back at UFC 91 Couture is known to win when people think he is going to lose and believe me there is still enough left in the 46 year old for another title run

The outcome---No doubt Couture has the advantage on the fight with his boxing and his Greco Roman style something Nogueira has never really faced. Nogueira with no big secret will be looking to take the fight to the ground which he is one of the best in the world he is also known for taking a beating and catching you in a submission to win the fight late. The problem with that in this fight is he is fighting one of the smartest fighters in the UFC Who will not fall into a dumb submission. Look for Couture to keep the fight standing much like Mir did to Nogueira at 92 everytime Nogueira went to the ground Mir pulled out and made him stand if Couture can do that it should be a good night for "The Natural"...Look for a great 3 round Victory via descision for Couture

Brock Lesnar- Life and Career and the Important figure in MMA

Why Brock Lesnar is the most important fighter in the UFC today. Brock Lesnar has tried everything to find his nit ch in life. He started out as a wrestler at Webster high school in North Dakota where as a senior he had a record of 33-0, he went on to get a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota where he was a two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

Right after College Brock moved on to sign with the WWE (world wrestling entertainment) in the year 2000 as a under card filler never on the televised show where he formed a tag team known as the "The Minnesota Stretching Crew" with his former college roommate,Shelton Benjamin (Also a WWE Superstar). In 2002 Brock moved up to the main roster Lesnar debuted on WWE television on the March 18, 2002 episode of Raw. Brocks highlight of his WWE career came at the main event of Summer Slam July 22 2002, Lesnar defeated The Rock to become the WWE Undisputed Champion. In 2004 Brock left the WWE to pursue a career in the NFL, in 2004 he signed with his home town Minnesota Vikings where he played Defensive end but was cut after the preseason.

Finally MMA Brock started training in MMA in 2006 his first fight was June 2, 2007 for the K-I promotion his bout was against Min Soo Kim who Lesnar submitted due to strikes in 1 minute 9 seconds of the first round to win his first official MMA match. Lesnar caught the eye of UFC president Dana White, White jumped at the chance to sign Lesnar It was announced during UFC 77 that Lesnar reached a deal to fight with the UFC. On February 2, 2008, Lesnar made his debut against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir Lesnar secured an early take down, but was deducted a point for hitting Mir on the back of the head. Following another take down by Lesnar, Mir managed to secure a knee bar and force a submission at 1:30 of the first round. But Lesnar showed the MMA world that he was for real his next bout would take place at UFC 87 Against Heath "The Texas Crazy Horse" Harring. Where Lesnar won by unanimous decision. After that fight UFC president Dana White rewarded Lesnar with a Title fight against then Champion Randy Couture, that fight would take place at UFC 91. Where Lesnar beat Couture via TKO in round 2 to win the UFC Heavyweight title.

Now that all the past has been taken care of back to why Brock is the most important fighter in the UFC. Take me for instance I was a average UFC Fan I would watch the free fights on Spike and all the "Ultimate Fighter" tv series But my first like PPV was UFC 91, I went because Brock Lesnar was fighting and from knowing him from back in his WWE Days I wouldn't miss the chance to see him fight live. After watching him fight I never seen anyone fight like that ever in MMA I was hooked and could not wait to see his next fight. By doing that it also got me hooked on the UFC more then I was before Lesnar.

Now Imagine that but happening with Millions of people Brock Lesnar has fought 4 times in the UFC and all 4 of his fights where in the top 10 UFC sells for PPVs in the history of the business. Back in July it was UFC 100 leading up to the show the week before Brock Lesnar was being talked about on every sport show and website you could not turn on the TV or even go on Yahoo.com without seeing something about Lesnar and therefore Promoting the UFC. After UFC 100 and his defeat of Frank Mir again Lesnar was the talk of the sports world.

Now UFC president Dana White in my opinion is one of the smartest guys in the sports world he knows that he has a guy in Lesnar who love him or hate him you cannot miss anyone of his fights, most fans do not like Lesnar because they feel he is disrespectful to the sport of MMA, Which is right where Lesnar and White want him to be they want people to order the fights and hope Lesnar losers,

Lost in all this about selling ppvs and making money, some people miss the greatness that we are watching Lesnar is such a dominating fighter who seems to be unstop able he weights in at the limit of 265 and the next day is up around 285, He has some much power in his hands that it seems he is always one punch away from a knockout. And the scary thing about all this is he is getting better with every fight he has only 5 fights in his MMA career and only 3 years of training just imagine if Lesnar started off right out of college how scary he would be now! So love him or hate him just know everytime you watch him fight you are watching one of the greatest fighters of our time and a man who after ledges such as (Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, and Royce Gracie) is taking the world of MMA to the next level

The Biggest MMA Bout of the year!

Saturday night could be one of the biggest night's in the history of MMA...Yet most of the casual MMA fan has no idea what the bout is or that this bout by it self could help the world of MMA in to the mainstream world. With the world of mixed marital arts evolving into what could big huge in the world of sports they are closer now then ever into breaking in with the mainstream audiences with the UFC reaching a deal to show fights on ESPN in other country's..This fight could put MMA on the Map or at least help it take a big step! And you still don't know what the bout is?

It is this Saturdays Strikeforce Carano vs Cyborg For the Strikeforce Women's Championship...It is the first ever MMA event headlined by a female main event now to the casual fan some first reaction may be women fighting? But this bout has potential to be the best fight of the year yes you heard me right best fight of the year!..It will be on televised on Showtime and this one fight could help get MMA on the road to mainstream.

Gina Carano for years has been the face of women's MMA when she enters the cage and the ring announcer announces her name "The face of women's MMA Gina Conviction Carano" Carano is already the first women to fight on a televised MMA event back in ElitleXC, but this is a whole need stage and a much tougher opponent Carano could have the most pressure of carrying a sport on her back then any other female athlete in any sport if Carano was not in the sport the sport of women's MMA may not be around. Now with all the said she faces her hardest test Saturday and carrying all the pressure of a organization on her back but this does not seem to faze her a bit in every interview she is calm and laughing and saying things like.....

“I don’t have to be there for the sport to be successful,I’m doing the best with this opportunity to represent the sport. I’m doing everything I can do. But the sport is awesome. It’ll make it by itself. They don’t need me for it to be successful. I’m being given the chance right now for a period of time and there will be another person with the chance next.”

Now the test for Carano will be Christiane “Cyborg” Santos a vicious Muay Thai and Jiu-Jitsu fighter who holds a record of 7-1 she is by far the toughest test Carano has faced. Now Carano's biggest weakness is her ground game which even tho Cyborg is a better fighter on her feet she is not a bigger striker Carano. Therefore look for Cyborg to take it to the ground and try to work there where Carano is weak now Carano has been training at XtreamCouture to help work on her ground game and take down defense

Now this fight on Saturday figures to be a Fight of the Year type of bout in which each woman will stand and throw power shots at the other, But also look for a very technical battle as Gina Carano said.... “I think Cyborg said it best,” Carano said. “It’s going to be who makes the least amount of mistakes [who wins]. We both have things going for us. We’re about the same size. She’s got bigger muscles, but I’m pretty strong"

Now all we can do is watch and enjoy this bout and watch it live up to the hype no matter what happens Carano and her contributions to the MMA world and especially the world of women's MMA will go beyond one bout. This is a win win bout for the world of MMA and surely the world of women's MMA

My Preview Of UFC 102

Well First off UFC 102 in my opinion is one of the best UFC fight cards I have seen in along time, from top to bottom with alot of entertaining bouts Inculding the fight I'm looking forward to most Demian Maia vs Nate "The Great" Marquart...I think the winner of this bout has a better chance of beating Anderson Sliva then current number one contender Dan Henderson does...Marquart I think has the best chance yes he has lost to Sliva before but this is a whole new Marquart. And with his great cardio and Ground game I think he has the best chance to take down Sliva at 185

For the Co main event Thiago Sliva vs Keith "The Dean of Mean" Jardine...This looks like it will be a very entertaining bout although not to much on the line for this fight (Besides maybe the winner facing Forest Griffin down the road) Thiago Sliva for sure has more potential to compete for the title one day but in this fight it will be all Jardine..He is a very smart fighter who almost just took down Rampage Jackson at UFC 96...Jardine with Trainer Greg Jackson will come up with a game plan to out-smart the younger Thiago Sliva....Look for a Jardine win via Descion (And a bunch of leg kicks)

And for the main event 2 of the greatest Heavyweights of all time get in the Octagon for a fight that could mean more then alot of people think..I think that the winner of this bout will face the winner of Frank Mir and Chieck Kongo's bout and the winner will get the next title shot down the road after the (Lesnar, Carwin, And Cain Velasquez 3 way)....Now with that on the line this fight will most surely go all 3 rounds..Having said that I believe that Randy "The Natural" Couture will win this bout I think his Greco Roman style will out work the Great Submissions of Minotauro.....So look for Randy Couture to get a descion victory over Minotauro and great back in the title hunt....And who knows maybe a future rematch and showdown with current champ Brock Lesnar
