Brock Lesnar- Life and Career and the Important figure in MMA

Why Brock Lesnar is the most important fighter in the UFC today. Brock Lesnar has tried everything to find his nit ch in life. He started out as a wrestler at Webster high school in North Dakota where as a senior he had a record of 33-0, he went on to get a full scholarship to the University of Minnesota where he was a two-time Big Ten Conference Champion, and the 2000 NCAA heavyweight champion with a record of 106–5 overall in four years of college.

Right after College Brock moved on to sign with the WWE (world wrestling entertainment) in the year 2000 as a under card filler never on the televised show where he formed a tag team known as the "The Minnesota Stretching Crew" with his former college roommate,Shelton Benjamin (Also a WWE Superstar). In 2002 Brock moved up to the main roster Lesnar debuted on WWE television on the March 18, 2002 episode of Raw. Brocks highlight of his WWE career came at the main event of Summer Slam July 22 2002, Lesnar defeated The Rock to become the WWE Undisputed Champion. In 2004 Brock left the WWE to pursue a career in the NFL, in 2004 he signed with his home town Minnesota Vikings where he played Defensive end but was cut after the preseason.

Finally MMA Brock started training in MMA in 2006 his first fight was June 2, 2007 for the K-I promotion his bout was against Min Soo Kim who Lesnar submitted due to strikes in 1 minute 9 seconds of the first round to win his first official MMA match. Lesnar caught the eye of UFC president Dana White, White jumped at the chance to sign Lesnar It was announced during UFC 77 that Lesnar reached a deal to fight with the UFC. On February 2, 2008, Lesnar made his debut against former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir Lesnar secured an early take down, but was deducted a point for hitting Mir on the back of the head. Following another take down by Lesnar, Mir managed to secure a knee bar and force a submission at 1:30 of the first round. But Lesnar showed the MMA world that he was for real his next bout would take place at UFC 87 Against Heath "The Texas Crazy Horse" Harring. Where Lesnar won by unanimous decision. After that fight UFC president Dana White rewarded Lesnar with a Title fight against then Champion Randy Couture, that fight would take place at UFC 91. Where Lesnar beat Couture via TKO in round 2 to win the UFC Heavyweight title.

Now that all the past has been taken care of back to why Brock is the most important fighter in the UFC. Take me for instance I was a average UFC Fan I would watch the free fights on Spike and all the "Ultimate Fighter" tv series But my first like PPV was UFC 91, I went because Brock Lesnar was fighting and from knowing him from back in his WWE Days I wouldn't miss the chance to see him fight live. After watching him fight I never seen anyone fight like that ever in MMA I was hooked and could not wait to see his next fight. By doing that it also got me hooked on the UFC more then I was before Lesnar.

Now Imagine that but happening with Millions of people Brock Lesnar has fought 4 times in the UFC and all 4 of his fights where in the top 10 UFC sells for PPVs in the history of the business. Back in July it was UFC 100 leading up to the show the week before Brock Lesnar was being talked about on every sport show and website you could not turn on the TV or even go on Yahoo.com without seeing something about Lesnar and therefore Promoting the UFC. After UFC 100 and his defeat of Frank Mir again Lesnar was the talk of the sports world.

Now UFC president Dana White in my opinion is one of the smartest guys in the sports world he knows that he has a guy in Lesnar who love him or hate him you cannot miss anyone of his fights, most fans do not like Lesnar because they feel he is disrespectful to the sport of MMA, Which is right where Lesnar and White want him to be they want people to order the fights and hope Lesnar losers,

Lost in all this about selling ppvs and making money, some people miss the greatness that we are watching Lesnar is such a dominating fighter who seems to be unstop able he weights in at the limit of 265 and the next day is up around 285, He has some much power in his hands that it seems he is always one punch away from a knockout. And the scary thing about all this is he is getting better with every fight he has only 5 fights in his MMA career and only 3 years of training just imagine if Lesnar started off right out of college how scary he would be now! So love him or hate him just know everytime you watch him fight you are watching one of the greatest fighters of our time and a man who after ledges such as (Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, and Royce Gracie) is taking the world of MMA to the next level
